Coffee Details
This single-producer micro-lot from Juan Contreras intrigues us with its rich sweetness, balance and complexity. Blackberry pie, nectarine and watermelon are the main notes, with a delicate, crisp acidity. Layers of stone-fruit, florals and caramel hit your palate as the cup cools, with just a bit of baking spices and chocolate. It's a balanced coffee that shines equally on drip or single origin espresso.
Juan's farm is situated in the Los Flores municipality of the Santa Barbara department of Honduras. It is fermented in concrete fermentation tanks for 16-24 hours then dried on raised beds under shade. The coffee is then processed at Beneficio San Vicente under the supervision of the Paz family. Benjamin Paz and his family have been instrumental in raising the bar for quality in Honduras over the last decade, and we are proud to partner with them once again.
