Coffee Details
Suke Quto Farm focuses on environmentally friendly coffee and the economic growth of the community. The manager, Tesfaye Bekele, has initiated a project that aims to renew local schools, located in the Odo Shakisso woreda. The volcanic soil is incredibly fertile and Tesfaye keeps the soil in shape by organic recycling through litterfall, root residue from coffee and shade trees. After devastating fires ravaged the region in 1999, Tesfaye encouraged local farmers to replant the forest, adding in coffee trees to diversify their ecosystem and incomes. Though initially skeptical, the community has embraced coffee farming. Lucky for us, as they produce some of the very best coffees in Ethiopia! Suke Quto coffees are all Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified.
