Coffee Details
Two of the finalists at World Barista Championships competed using pink bourbon coffees this year, and the mysterious allure has been building. Pink Bourbon first appeared in the Huila region of Colombia, and was originally thought to be a hybrid of yellow and red bourbon. Recent DNA testing has proven it's closer to an Ethiopia landrace varietal or Panamanian Geisha, which makes sense when you taste the flavor profile.
We were completely blown away when we first cupped this lot from the farm of Luz Divia Fierro. It was so delicate, sweet and sparkling we couldn't stop talking about it! Luz and her husband Elpidio grow coffee at their finca El Meson, in the municipality of Acevedo, Huila. They now have almost 50,000 pink bourbon trees on their estate, that includes a forest preserve.
